All Animals Deserve Our Respect

Image
There isn't any reason why we shouldn't be treating animals humanely.  Mimi Kirk on treating animals with respect...watch and get involved in animal rights and protections. Go vegan for your health! Become an egg or cheese eating vegetarian! If you must remain a carnivore, buy your products from a rancher using sustainable practices: organic, grass fed, no hormones or antibiotics, and humane treatment of the animals. How about trying some meatless meats? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_m97Hmh0UT4                                              ©wholefoodalchemyst2015

Epilepsy and the Ketogenic Diet: A Mini History

Image
There are so many ideas on eating a healthy diet that I like to provide a glimpse into all types of concepts and options available.  The Ketogenic Diet is a hot topic with its roots in the treatment of certain types of epilepsy.  On his blog, Robb Wolf, provides a mini history of the use of a Ketogenic Diet on patients suffering with epilepsy.  It is a good read to add to your dietary information arsenal.   Links to Part I & II below: Image via Robb Wolf website http://robbwolf.com/2015/09/24/the-origin-and-future-of-the-ketogenic-diet-part-1/ http://robbwolf.com/2015/09/30/the-origin-and-future-of-the-ketogenic-diet-part-2/

Free Preview of the Film: The Sacred Science

Image
This reminds one of the film, Medicine Man, from 1992 starring Sean Connery and Lorraine Bracco.  In the film, they are trying to protect the rain forest from big lumber business in hopes of finding cures for diseases.  In the documentary, The Sacred Science, they are looking at the Shamans of the Amazon and their sacred methods (that can't be found elsewhere) for coping with diseases.  Many messages in these films, specifically we need to protect the rain forest in order to find some new cures or investigate some sacred ones...and individually we need to live a conscious life. Here is the link to the film:  http://www.thesacredscience.com/screening_watchnow/ Personally, I would like to know how these folks are doing with their diseases, basically where are they now? Better or worse, dead or alive?
